Fall Fancy

My newest outlandish fashion prediction - gloves, out of necessity. With all the icky swine flu germs we are hearing about, why not sport some stylish gloves to protect ourselves?

I'm thinking gloves with cool embellishment or in bright colors to add pop to an outfit.
Maybe I'll try it out this fall! I'll let you know how it goes :)

Check out this fashion blogger, who is much younger and far cooler than me!

Runway Dreaming

I realized this morning on my walk to work, while listening to music pumping through my headphones, that I would love to plan a fashion show. How cool would it be to pick the music that makes you groove while you walk along the street, and the decor that makes you feel fierce, and the hair and makeup that makes the clothing look super stylish, and then have everyone pay total attention to what you created.
Totally cool.

Fashion Meets Art

I love this blog:
It is quite that simple. Check it out.

The Shopping News

I finally made it to H&M for an in-depth shopping session. To be honest, I only actually walked out of the store with two things. To be equally as honest, they are pretty fab. The first purchase was the hoodie I have been searching for forever... like seriously, for atleast 6 months. My beloved purple hoodie with the big black rose pattern has seen better days. It can definitely be replaced with the charcoal grey beauty with black leopard print that I found.
And it feels good to buy something you actually kind of need, of course.
AND I got a cute purple and white print shirt that is completely versatile.. with a belt and tights its perfect for a concert, without the belt its perfect for just hanging out. Even putting it under a cardigan and a high waisted skirt looks fab, and is perfect for work. Plus, I saw someone wearing it a week before I went to H&M, and I totally wondered where she got it. Score.

Fashion on the Coast

Just came across this Coast article from October 2008.
I must say, my sentiments exactly.
Check it out.

The Coast always has fabulous articles about fashion. Love it.

I also love the fact that Lisa Drader-Murphy is highlighted in the article especially. I met her while visiting her studio/cafe in Falmouth as part of a work retreat. Her story is inspirational because she now owns a thriving boutique on the Halifax waterfront. Its nice to see that the fashion world in Hali is growing!

Style Influence: Rachel Zoe

My favorite literary purchase of the day: Style A to Zoe, Rachel Zoe's new guide for the everyday fashionista, based on her work as one of Hollywood's top stylists.

For those of you who don't know, Rachel Zoe decides what tons of Hollywood's hottest stars wear to big and small events. Her clients include Lindsay Lohan and Mischa Barton - stylistas of our time for sure.

In "Style A to Zoe", Rachel shares some of her secrets to fashion prowess. First and foremost, she urges readers to go for glam! There's no reason we can't do glamour if we want to! She points out, however, that "style doesn’t require gobs of resources, fiscal or otherwise." We just need to get creative!
